Birmingham, AL, October 15, 2009 — Due to the downturn in the economy, McWane Cast Iron Pipe Company today announced a workforce reduction of approximately 85 employees. “It is unfortunate that the unprecedented economic downturn we are now experiencing is forcing us to reorganize our operation in this manner, concentrating on product lines which allow us to be more competitive”, said Tom Crawford, Vice President and General Manager of McWane Cast Iron Pipe.
